What city did the Texas chainsaw massacre occur?

The movies were shot in various locations, some throughout Texas. Kingsland and Georgetown pop up first in my searches. If you are asking about the actual event; it technically never happened. The story is based loosely on a gentleman by the name of Ed Gein, who was from Plainfield, Wisconsin. During the 50's he murdered a few women and later used their body parts to make furniture. A chainsaw was never involved.
